daytrader says to BGG():Think many were stunned by the events in Parliament the last couple of days.
daytrader says to BGG():Not sure what to believe from the media coming out of Iraq
jeffusa says to daytrader(sorry to say,,, I feel the same about out media
daytrader says to jeffusa():Agree with that.
daytrader says to jeffusa():You can watch multiple channels about the same story and still not get all the information needed to draw a reasonable opinion on what really transpired
daytrader says to jeffusa():Think a lot of folks would like to know what really happened, and how Abadi et al are going to handle it. I’m not too concerned as Abadi has shown a lot of ability to engineer this whole process. It appears he’s anticipated a lot of scenarios and has a plan already developed to circumvent the obstructionists.
BGG says():If Jubouri does actaully recommend to Massoum to disband this Parliament and replace them…
BGG says():you guys aren’t seeing the up side here…
BGG says():… Abadi heads some kind of “provisional / EMERGENCY” GOI – if this happens…They dissolve this crooked parliament – Abadi can pretty much do as he pleases. (ala – Maliki, last term….)
daytrader says to jeffusa():This process has also publicly identified the obstructionist MP’s, which would likley not get their job back in a real election.
daytrader says to jeffusa():Sorry, that was a comment to BGG
daytrader says to BGG():Though hopefully by then, we’ll not likely be monitoring every news article out of Iraq.
BGG says to daytrader():That is true – these guys are not well liked according to their current social media trends…

jeffusa says():The spokesperson for the United States-led anti-Islamic State (ISIS) coalition Colonel Steve Warren announced on Wednesday that “phase one” of the counter-ISIS campaign is now complete.
“Our enemy has been weakened and we are now working to fracture him,” Warren told reporters at the Pentagon.
“We are now in phase two, which is to dismantle this enemy. Phase one was to degrade the enemy. We focused on stopping ISIL [ISIS] from advancing and degrading their military capabilities in Iraq and in Syria. This was an effort to eliminate ISIL’s ability to operate as a conventional force,” he added.
jeffusa says(:He went on to point out that ISIS “has lost more than 40 percent of the territory it once controlled in Iraq and in Syria.”
“While ISIL can still put together some complex attacks,” Warren said, “they have not been able to take hold of any key terrain for almost a year now.”
The US initiated this campaign back in August 2014 when ISIS threatened Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region in Iraq. It consequently extended its campaign to include Syria the following month, building a multinational coalition who have contributed aircraft to the air campaign and trainers to prepare and assist Iraqis and Kurds for ground operations against the group.
daytrader says to BGG():Thanks BGG. Wern’t they on the bad boy list of 72?
BGG says to daytrader():and Jubouri…
BGG says to daytrader():Qutaiba al-Jubouri…
BGG says to daytrader():NOT SALIM
daytrader says to BGG():Got it. Thanks
daytrader says to subgirl():BGG’s comment made me look at the Iraq constitution to find out what Abadi had to do to disolve parliament. All he needs is the President of Iraq’s agreement. They then have 60 days to call for a new election, and Abadi’s COM is also considered to have resigned as well. Interesting.
subgirl says to daytrader():WOW that is interesting! hmmmm…
daytrader says to subgirl():Wonder if this is one of Abadi’s contingency plans if all else had failed to make the necessary changes.
subgirl says to daytrader():sure could be one… thank you for that…
daytrader says to subgirl():Not me. Just following up on BGG’s comments. He’s the one who figured it out.
