All of us are so eager for this to happen that we’re failing to look at current affairs through the eyes of the government of Iraq. We’re stuck in our own little world and we’re looking at it as individuals…from 8 hours away. We have to think as if we were the head of the government of a small emerging country that’s about to go international, that’s about to enter the world stage and play a major role in the region’s politics and economy. The immense responsibility on the shoulders of…the prime minister, the finance minister and the governor of the central bank is beyond our comprehension. They have to make decisions that don’t make sense to us. But they’re not supposed to…This devaluation…decision befuddles us. And it should because we’re not responsible for a nation state of 35 million people trying to recover from a devastating war, revive an economy, maintaining stability right in the middle of a giant war between a neighbor on the left and a neighbor on the right and the big behemoth…The United States. :Guy
