Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The State Organization for Marketing of Oil (SOMO) revealed on Monday that Iraq’s oil exports in the first nine months of 2025 surpassed 900 million barrels, leading to profits of more than $48 billion.

Iraq’s total oil exports from January to September were over 918,290,407 barrels, with a monthly average of 102,032,297 barrels, Shafaq News reported.

SOMO reported that oil shipments from the oil fields in central and southern Iraq via Basra ports amounted to 900,564,077 barrels. In addition, exports from the Qayyarah field in Kirkuk were approximately 7,099,154 barrels.

Oil shipments from the current Kirkuk depot to Jordan totaled 1,866,194 barrels over the same time frame.

Iraqi Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani indicated that the country is discussing the size of its OPEC quota within its available production capacity of 5.5 million barrels per day. He also emphasized Baghdad’s adherence to its present quota of 4.4 million barrels per day despite having more production potential.

During a press conference held on Monday, Abdul-Ghani revealed that Iraq’s total oil exports currently average 3.6 million barrels per day. He added that the fire that broke out on Sunday at the Zubair oil field in the southern part of the country had no effect on oil exports.

Oil exports from the Kurdistan region of Iraq presently range between 195,000 and 200,000 barrels per day, according to Abdul-Ghani.

Oil flows from Kirkuk to the Turkish port of Ceyhan were restarted in late September following a two-and-a-half-year suspension.
