Iraq and Egypt Discuss Cooperation in the Field of Medicines Supplies:
Health Minister Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi and Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar discussed cooperation in the field of medicines and medical supplies on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Health said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), “Health Minister Saleh Mahdi Al-Hasnawi held a meeting with Egyptian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar on the sidelines of the first day of the 72nd session of the WHO Regional Committee for the Eastern Mediterranean.” The statement indicated that “ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in the health sector were discussed.”
The statement added that “the two sides emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of medicines and medical supplies, and activating mutual registration mechanisms between the two countries to facilitate the smooth exchange of medical products.” It explained that “an agreement was reached to expand the scope of training, development, and exchange of expertise between health institutions in Iraq and Egypt, which will contribute to raising the efficiency of medical and technical personnel and improving the quality of health services provided to citizens in both countries.”
