Iraq explores energy cooperation with Sweden’s Linxon:

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and the director of Sweden-based Linxon, Stefan Reisacher, discussed on Wednesday cooperation in the energy sector.

During their meeting in Baghdad, which was attended by Switzerland’s Ambassador to Iraq, Daniel Hunn, and Sweden’s Ambassador, Jorgen Lindstrom, al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq’s openness to cooperate with major foreign, primarily European, corporations to engage in different development areas.

The meeting addressed projects carried out by Linxon, which specializes in turnkey electrical substations and electrification projects, in Iraq, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

The two sides reviewed Linxon’s projects in Iraq, where it has been in operation since 2018, including repair work on Baghdad’s electric power facilities.

The Iraqi prime minister instructed the creation of a detailed roadmap to identify significant projects that Swiss and Swedish energy businesses may carry out in Iraq.

Al-Sudani stated that Iraq is experiencing a period of stability, aided by investment-friendly regulations that promote both domestic and foreign investments.

The prime minister emphasized the country’s ongoing reconstruction and development efforts in all areas, particularly the energy sector, which requires innovative technology and cutting-edge knowledge to improve performance and growth.

Al-Sudani emphasized that Swiss and Swedish enterprises have substantial expertise and capabilities in this important sector.

The two ambassadors conveyed their countries’ interest in strengthening relations with Iraq and underscored the eagerness of Swiss and Swedish energy companies to participate in projects in the country.
