Iraq Securities Commission: Measured reforms to boost investor confidence and align with global developments Iraqi News

Iraq Securities Commission Chairman Faisal Al-Haimas on Sunday affirmed the implementation of carefully planned reforms aimed at strengthening investor confidence and keeping pace with global developments, noting that the government attaches great importance to enhancing the investment environment in Iraq.

Al-Haimas said in a speech delivered at the “Global Investor Week” conference and the “Founding Anniversary of the Commission,” attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) correspondent, that “the convening of this conference represents an important milestone in the development of Iraq’s financial and investment sector and sends a clear message of the state’s commitment to creating a modern investment environment based on transparency, trust, and good governance. This will enhance the position of the Iraq Stock Market as a key driver to support economic advancement and achieve the objectives of Iraq’s Economic Vision 2030.”

He added that “the government, under the patronage of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, has placed great emphasis on improving the investment climate and creating promising opportunities for companies and investors. The Commission is taking measured steps through reforms in legislative and regulatory frameworks, expanding the listing base, and adopting modern mechanisms to boost investor confidence and align with global developments.”

Al-Haimas highlighted that “the work of this conference will serve as a launchpad for a new phase of cooperation to strengthen Iraq’s position on the global financial and investment map,” adding: “Let us move forward together towards a strong financial Iraq that enhances investor confidence and supports the national economy.”

The Securities Commission held the “Global Investor Week” conference and the “Founding Anniversary of the Commission” on Sunday under the theme: “Towards a Developed Financial Market – Iraq’s Economic Vision 2030.”
