Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) revealed on Sunday that Iraq’s weekly oil exports to the United States declined during the last week.
The United States imported an average of 5.87 million barrels of crude oil per day from 10 major countries last week, according to the EIA. This is a 235,000-barrel-per-day increase compared to the previous week, when US oil imports reached approximately 5.64 million barrels per day, according to Shafaq News.
Iraq’s oil exports to the United States reached 249,000 barrels per day last week, representing a decline of 76,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week, when Iraq exported 325,000 barrels per day to the US.
According to the EIA, Canada accounted for the majority of the United States’ crude oil imports over the previous week, with an average of 4.1 million barrels per day, followed by Saudi Arabia with 496,000 barrels per day, Mexico with 465,000 barrels per day, and Venezuela with 153,000 barrels per day.
An average of 147,000 barrels were imported daily by the United States from Colombia, 117,000 barrels from Nigeria, 57,000 barrels from Brazil, 49,000 barrels from Ecuador, and 28,000 barrels from Libya.
The United States consumes over 20 million barrels of oil each day, making it the world’s largest consumer.
