Abadi and Kerry discuss economic crisis and war against ISIS
On Thursday, Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi discussed with US Secretary of State John Kerry the war against the ISIS organization, in addition to the military and financial challenges in Iraq.
Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi office said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “The Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi met US Secretary of State John Kerry on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.”
The statement added, “The meeting discussed a number of important issues including the war against ISIS, achieved victories, in addition to the military, security, economic and financial challenges in Iraq,” pointing out that, “The meeting also discussed the arming and training of Iraqi troops and the situation in the region.”
The Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi also met the President of the World Bank Jim Yong Kim, while discussed the bank’s support to Iraq, in addition to the simplification of procedures and assistance for the reform of the Iraqi banking system. The World Bank President expressed his readiness to provide all the needed support to Iraq.
