Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) revealed on Sunday that Iraq’s weekly oil exports to the United States significantly increased during the last week.
The US imported an average of 5.85 million barrels of crude oil per day from nine major countries last week, according to the EIA. This is a 169,000-barrel-per-day decline compared to the previous week, when US oil imports reached nearly 5.69 million barrels per day, according to Shafaq News.
Iraq’s oil exports to the United States reached 303,000 barrels per day last week, representing an increase of 137,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week, when Iraq exported over 160,000 barrels per day to the US.
According to the EIA, Canada accounted for the majority of the United States’ crude oil imports over the previous week, with an average of 3.83 million barrels per day, followed by Mexico with 407,000 barrels per day, Saudi Arabia with 325,000 barrels per day, and Colombia with 321,000 barrels per day.
An average of 278,000 barrels were imported daily by the United States from Brazil, 179,000 barrels from Nigeria, 114,000 barrels from Ecuador, and 98,000 barrels from Venezuela.
