Islandg1211: Watching today’s politicians disrupt, whine, and attempt to delay illustrates the example of Moses asking Pharoah to “Let my children go.”
I brought up this example yesterday in one of my post that an inspired thought came to me, “Pharoah was the last to know of his own demise.” So consumed with his own egotistical desire to control and have power and riches, he refused to let go.
Even when Moses led his people out of Cairo, Pharoah followed with all his chariots. He never saw the Red Sea coming.
These corrupt people in power refuse to let go. But, the global economic and financial reform truly is like the sun moving from the East to the West, and cannot be turned back. QE is about to end.
That’s just one example of how and why all the chair throwing in the GOI isn’t going to stop the global monetary reform.
Shabibi has been talking for 12 days now.
The press has gone over the history of the CBI, not only about Shabibi and Allak, but also why there was ever three zeroes – inflation in the 1970’s. The articles have continued to go back over the Monetary Reform. These articles are like Shabibi’s introduction for his acceptance speech.
I’m wondering, what forum Shabibi will be given to give his speech? With Sistani and Sadre being very obvious in their silence (not calling for protest because the re-shuffled government is done) is it possible that Shabibi would be given a Holy Day and/or forum in which to speak, or some form of nod of approval from the Clerics and Abadi?
I’m also curious at Frank’s suggestion that Shabibi would speak in April yet not RV until June. Hmmmm.
I’m not quite seeing how that would work, because it would make a lot of sense to RV “in the still of the night on a Wednesday/Thursday night with Shabibi making the announcement at the beginning of his three day holiday.
Wouldn’t the RV need some element of surprise? Why would Shabibi make a speech and then wait two-three months to RV? Surprise can be strategic. Corrupt people would never see it coming. All IMO

Don961: Thank you I-g ….IMO …. The people of Israel were Pharaoh’s meal ticket …. just like the positions these blocs hold are their personal cookie jar …. they put on a loud show and stir people up just to make it look like they’re doing something … but ultimately do nothing ….
But the people are past being fed up and have found a champion who will stand up to these thugs …..

Does it make any sense for Shabibi to make a speech announcing his return to the CBI and his plan to RV soon? We’ve heard that. No one needs to hear that again.
He needs to give a speech announcing the RV and why the increase in purchasing power and having an international currency is important to Iraq’s recovery.

Nadita: I-G,I feel it’s going to be simultaneously Shab = RV otherwise it will be feeding frenzy with people buying at the last minute. The question is.. will Iraq do it right away..? Iraq has its own mind – stubborn. They do what they want to do.

As far as Pharaoh goes, God hardened Pharaoh’s heart so Israelites can come out of Egypt with spoils. Could it be the timing is ripe for this month?? only God knows. I have been in this investment for a few years. In a way, I thank God that it didn’t come a few years ago, I would have spent foolishly. Now I am wiser and patiently waiting and I have had time to think about what I want to do.

Whatever: IGI love your posts! As for Iraq waiting until June, I understood Frank to say that that is the amount of time Iraq has been given as a deadline, and they tend to historically wait until the last nanosecond.
Of course I like very much the thought of this happening sooner, but if this basket is going to go at once (IQD,IR,VND) then it’s entirely possible this could take longer.
However, you make a good argument that if Shabs talks in April it would seem very anticlimactic for nothing to happen until June..IMO of course

Baghdad (AFP) – Iraq’s premier presented a new list of cabinet nominees on Tuesday that angered some lawmakers, who criticised it as perpetuating the system of ministries being distributed according to political quotas.
Parliament descended into chaos after the session was postponed to Thursday, with lawmakers shaking fists and chanting against political quotas and then beginning a sit-in.
Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has called for a government of technocrats to replace the current party-affiliated ministers, but has faced major resistance from powerful parties that rely on control of ministries for patronage and funds.
He presented a list of 13 cabinet nominees to parliament on March 31, but lawmakers later said that the political blocs would nominate other candidates, a process that apparently resulted in the current list of names.
Abadi gave the new list of candidates to parliament speaker Salim al-Juburi, then met with him and leaders of the political blocs, according to posts on their official Twitter accounts.
But with major disagreement over the proposed list of candidates, the session was postponed until Thursday, Juburi’s office said.
Lawmakers chanted “The people want the fall of the quotas!” after the session ended, according to video shot inside parliament.
The phrase is a variation on “The people want the fall of the regime”, which was chanted at Arab Spring protests against despots across the region.
More than 100 MPs then began a sit-in inside parliament to protest against the delay of the session, lawmakers Haider al-Kaabi and Iskander Witwit told AFP by telephone.
“We announced an open sit-in inside parliament because of the postponement of the session until Thursday,” Kaabi said, adding that they are demanding an emergency session on Wednesday.
According to the new list of 14 names, a copy of which was obtained by AFP, most of Abadi’s original nominees did not make the second cut.
The nominees for water resources, health and transport stayed the same, while a fourth nominee from the original list became a candidate for the planning ministry.
– ‘Ministries for them’ –
The new list also includes Faleh al-Fayad, a long-time member of the Dawa party who served as national security adviser under former premier Nuri al-Maliki and then Abadi, as the nominee for foreign minister.
Sunni lawmaker Ahmed al-Juburi said that the new list is opposed by almost a third of MPs.
The MP said he had gathered 98 names of lawmakers who are against the list and who reject the “principle of (political) quotas that was agreed upon by the leaders of the blocs”.
“The blocs and the parties do not want to give up their gains and their ministries,” said Shiite MP Hassan Salem.
“They do not consider them ministries of the people as much as they consider them ministries for them,” Salem said.
And MP Zainab al-Tai, from the bloc affiliated with powerful Shiite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, who has called for a government of technocrats, threatened a no-confidence vote in Abadi.
“We demand the formation of an independent government, and if not, we will go to withdraw confidence from Abadi’s government,” Tai said.
Abadi called in February for “fundamental” change to the cabinet so that it includes “professional and technocratic figures and academics”
.
That kicked off the latest chapter in a months-long saga of Abadi proposing various reforms that parties and politicians with interests in the existing system have sought to delay or undermine.
Sadr, the scion of a powerful clerical family from the Shiite holy city of Najaf, later called for his supporters to protest and then stage a sit-in at Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone, where the government is headquartered.
Sadr relented after Abadi presented his list of nominees at the end of March, calling off the sit-in.
But efforts to change the government have run up against entrenched political interests that do not want to cede the power and funds that controlling ministries confers.
