Iraqi forces rely on drones as they advance in eastern Mosul
Drones have become an indispensable tool for the Iraqi army in their offensive against Islamic State militants in Mosul.
Members of the Federal Police say they have used drones in monitoring Islamic State locations and pin-pointing targets.
The militants also use the unmanned aerial vehicles to locate army position.
The second phase of the Mosul offensive was launched last week following weeks of deadlock.
Islamic State has been pushed out of several more areas despite fierce resistance.
Since the U.S.-backed offensive began in mid-October, elite forces have retaken a quarter of Mosul. Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has said the group would be driven out of the country by April.
