The Iraqi prime minister is in New York for the UN General Assembly where the militia issue is one of the biggest topics surrounding his visit. He’s already met with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and expected to meet President Trump in a couple of days. He’s trying to convince Washington Baghdad needs more time…September 30th looks like the beginning of the disarmament process…with the process competed by June 30, 2027. Some factions appear willing to cooperate while powerful Iran-aligned groups including Hezbollah continue to resist…The PM wants Trump to hold off on new US financial or economic measures while Baghdad carries out the plan. If Washington doesn’t say yes, I don’t know what Iraq is going to do. :Sandy Ingram
