Mike: This is going to be the fly in Abadi’s ointment regarding his new cabinet.  The Kurd’s are ok with the change in the cabinet, as long as they get a seat at the table.  Abadi’s been trying to get away from the quota system but in order to do that, he’s going to need Parliament’s vote to make the changes.
Unless everyone gets a seat at the table, Parliament’s not going to support the changes. Hopefully Abadi can find intelligent, knowledgeable technocrats from all three major sects and put this new government together with Parliament’s support.
Kurdistan Alliance: Our Share In The New Cabinet Ministers Cabin Three Or More
He favored the Kurdistan Alliance, that includes its stake in the new cabinet ministers cabin three or more, stressing that some of the political blocs to support the popular pressure to pressure the government to get some interest.
The MP said the coalition Majid in a press statement, that ‘to meet Prime Minister Haider al – Abadi and a coalition of Kurdish blocs to represent the Kurds 20% in the new government cabin without specifying the positions they want’, noting that ‘ the political blocs asked Abadi Without prejudice marginalizing the ingredients in his government’ .
He added that ‘ the positions of the Kurds not identified so far and are still discussions and dialogues are underway to have representation fits the Kurdish people in the Iraqi government’, likely to ‘include new government Alkanah the three ministers as a response if it is made up of 16 minister If the 20 ministries are supposed to be 4 ministers’.
And the ‘if it does not move away from sectarianism new cabin, Iraq will return to square one ‘, adding that ‘there are some blocks in favor of public pressure on the Iraqi street. “
He pointed out that ‘ you can not tell whether the blocs supports popular pressure for their interests to pressure the government to get some interest’, noting that ‘Abadi must follow the argument either be or not be in the selection of bold government’.

Tlar: IMO parliament will rubber stamp the new technocrats the first time Abadi presents them which most likely is this Friday.  The blocks have presented their choices already but unknown to them Abadi has his own list choose by the British.
The article above tends to answer the question as to the NA asking Abadi to slow down the change offering 6 months as another alternative.
If you have read my posts then you know that IMO Abidi will not slow down because thsat is risky.  Let me also say that if Keywords is replaced, Shabibi is the likely candidate.
I think Shabibi will be asked and Shabibi will accept. and  Keywords will take a poision below Shabibi.  Keywords is not a Maliki guy and he has done a pretty good job for a man with vrt222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222222228   I have to believe the IMF is calling the shots and the only Iraqi truly qualified is Shabibi as well as they know and trust him.
Shabibi put the ship on course and Shabibi will be the one to dock it even if it is only to see his project through.  For Shabibi to do this, Maliki will have to be gone.  tlar
AlBundy: That’s a lot of 2’s TLAR. 🙂
Tlar: They were not thhen I typed it on my phone.  Must have been a glitch.  tlar
Brule: Thanks, Tlar!  I completely agree with you regarding Shabibi, although I don’t think he will be offered the job, I think he took it a long time ago and is just waiting for the seat to be emptied.  8)
Tlar: Brule, long time no see.  I have always valued your opinion and would like to get your thoughts on Sadr and the demonstrations.  I think Sadr’s job in all this is to pressurize the change putting fear into all those who continue to try to stall this.
I think Sadr is on board with Abadi and is taking an active roll in pushing this agenda the only way he can be of benifit to Abadi.  By threatening to over run the green zone he has been able to get everyone going the same direction through that fear.
Ministers quiting that otherwise might have tried to stay on, antagonistic blocks backing down from pushing to delay, etc. etc.  I don’t think under any circmstances would he actually go in and wipe the government out.
But he has put the fear of Allah in the corrupt politicians and they aren’t sure if he means what he says.  This is why I think Abadi will be able to get this government seated quickly.
Sadr is the bulldozer working with Abadi clearing the way for the reforms, while Abadi quickly gets them in place before the SOL and the other corrupt have a chance to organize.  What’s your thoughts?  tlar
Brule:    Tlar, once again, I am in complete agreement with our assessement, this time concerning Sadr and his recent activities. There is not a corrupt person that has stolen the people’s money and allowed them to become sick, wallow in poverty, and die that is not afraid with the people coming after them with burning brooms and pitchforks.  The Green Zone is a confined area with Iraqi troops and 1,800 US military there.
I know who I would put my money on if a squirmish came about.  The armies are supporting the government and Abadi, and at this point how loyal do you think any of the hired security teams are going to be.  If I were Maliki, I would have put up a For Rent sign in the palace window a while ago.
The question I can only speculate, but with no certainty, is why is Sadr not uprising against the “infidels” in his country.  It seems that ever since Abadi’s last pow wow with Washington, he has gotten more positive work done and more American troops have gone into Iraq (with great success!) and Sadr says nothing.  Has he made a deal with devil for the good of his country?  It appears that way.
Sadr and Abadi have become quite the team, a tag team.  I believe Abadi’s motives are for the good of his country, but I am unsure what Sadr will get out of this, but it is something.  Maybe the Maliki Bedroom.
Good to see you too, Tlar.  You still da bestus!

hi-five:   I posted this in another thread, but it fits here – so I’m bringing it over.  Sadr means business – – If Abadi won’t arrest these guys, Sadr’s guys will.
Kuwaiti politics: the Sadrist movement provided the list of corrupt servants in the state close to the “al-Maliki”
He wrote in: March 10, 2016   Abadi    – Political sources revealed that the leaders of the Sadrist movement provided to Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, lists of corrupt senior state, including close to former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, in order to take penal right decisions.
As sources confirmed to the newspaper that the Kuwaiti politics, the military wing of the Sadrist movement has prepared a plan to storm the palaces and the homes of those named on these lists, and arrested in the case Abadi was unable to take action against them.
The sources warned of intervention of Iran’s military forces to support al-Maliki and other senior corrupt holed up in the Green Zone, saying it could cost Tehran all its influence in Iraq, especially that some Iranian officials considered that the battle against the corrupt in Iraq is an attempt to target Tehran, either directly or indirectly.   LINK
Hi-five:    We were discussing earlier that if Iran intervenes in Abadi’s attempts to prosecute the corrupt, Iraq will cut them off. Sadr is not backing down!! Guys, this could get really ugly if Abadi doesn’t get these reforms done by the end of the month.
