Iraqi Jets Target Dangerous Meeting of IS Leaders in Western Anbar
The Iraqi war media cell announced on Saturday that the Iraqi warplanes targeted a meeting of immense significance for the Islamic State (IS) leaders in al-Qaim town, west of Anbar province, killing at least 13 members.
In the meeting, the IS leaders were plotting serious attacks to be carried out during the upcoming Muslim holy month of Ramadan, according to the cell.
The Intelligence Falcons cell of the intelligence service, in coordination with the Joint Operations Command, carried out an operation targeting an important meeting in which the IS leaders were planning terrorist attacks against citizens during the holy month of Ramadan, the source said.
The air strikes resulted in the deaths of 13 IS senior members and destruction of a number of targets including weapons caches and a laboratory for explosives, belonging to the extremist organization.
