May 06 2017 10:49 AM  Ghanemi Chief of Staff of the Iraqi army Gen. Osman al-Ghanemi said on Saturday Mosul will be declared completely ISIS-free within few days.
The armed forces will declare the full control over the city, and the killing of all terrorists there, he added.
Iraqi joint forces fought fiercely, showing that its capabilities are on par with the world’s top armies, Ghanemi stated.
The Iraqi forces managed to attain victory in surgical operations that will be taught at military academies in the future, he went on to say.
The Iraqi forces, of all its branches, killed over 6,000 terrorists and evacuated over half a million civilians from the war-ravaged areas.
On his part, General Abdul Karim Khalaf, adviser of Arab European Counterterrorism Center said Mosul Battle is actually finished, and the remnants of ISIS terrorists are deemed to be dead.
The fighters of the Iraqi army showed great ability to control and maintain ground, he added.
The Iraqi forces are pushing on ISIS in the right bank of Mosul since February 19th with the aid of the US-led coalition.
Most of the city are now ISIS-free, with dozens of the terror group’s operatives are being killed on a daily basis.

Iraq confirms the continuation of the salaries of employees, regardless of Anbar
[Where-Baghdad]Rafidain Bank confirmed its continuation in Anbar province , officials pay the salaries in accordance with thelegal procedures followed.
The Information Office of the Bank said in a statement received by all of Iraq [where] a copy of it today that “no truth to the news that dealt with some of the media about the delay or stop Anbar employees pay the salaries for the month of March and April.”

Baghdad / Sky Press: The official Iranian news agency “Irna” on Saturday, the Iraqi government received a message from the United States through its embassy in Baghdad on the liberation of the district of Tal Afar, the province of Nineveh, pointing out that Washington has requested in its letter to stop the judicial deregulation as a “pretext” Turkish shelling in case of entering it.
“The US Embassy in Baghdad asked the Iraqi government to stop the military operations to liberate Tal Afar and not to enter and liberate this city from gangs under the pretext that Turkish forces may bomb Iraqi forces if they enter Tal Afar,” the agency quoted an Iraqi source as saying.
The source added that “the Americans who have signed a comprehensive agreement with Iraq was the most important items of the security aspect, which requires that America stand by Baghdad and defend Iraq in the event of any external threat, and instead of the strong response to Turkey, The liberation of its territory from the grip of terrorist gangs. ”
He added that “many Iraqi field leaders have said earlier and many times that the reason for the slow pace of the process of liberation and the fall of Mosul is the American influence and pressure exerted by America to prevent the completion of these operations, which was scheduled to end in less than three months.”
According to the agency, the source did not specify more details about “the message of the Americans to the Iraqi government in relation to Tal Afar,” but he stressed that “this letter was communicated to the Iraqi government through the US Embassy in Baghdad.”

The elections for Iraq are in 2018 so if Abadi wants to get relected he will do everything possible to give the IQD value but the value would not mean anything without the security and stability. Investors and the people need to feel safe. President Trump needs the IQD to revalue to put the USA back on track get out of debt etc.

They’ve become seriously unreliable. In February, it was Mosul liberation within hours.. their words. Then in March it was liberation within days, their words.
They keep doing it again.. and again…. and again…. with no real urgency. I’m hopeful… very hopeful… but one does wonder how far this is truly on the horizon. I hate to say the word “if” but I think it might be appropriate now.
