Gold holds steady in Baghdad, rises in Erbil Shafaq News

Gold prices were stable in Baghdad on Monday while edging higher in Erbil, extending last week’s mild upward trend in regional bullion trade.

According to a Shafaq News survey, in Baghdad’s Al-Nahr Street wholesale market, 21-carat foreign gold — Gulf, Turkish and European — held at 850,000 IQD per mithqal for selling and 846,000 IQD for buying, unchanged from Sunday. Iraqi-made 21-carat gold also remained flat at 820,000 IQD for selling and 816,000 IQD for buying.

Retail jewelry prices varied more widely, with foreign 21-carat pieces selling between 850,000–860,000 IQD per mithqal, and Iraqi gold between 820,000–830,000 IQD depending on workmanship and shop margin.

In Erbil, the 22-carat price reached 888,000 IQD, while 21-carat climbed to 848,000 IQD. The 18-carat level traded at 727,000 IQD.
