The production manager at the South Gas Company (SGC), Shaker Laibi, confirmed that Iraq is currently exporting 4,000 tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) daily, with plans to increase quantities as new projects come online.
Laibi told the Iraqi News Agency (INA) that “Iraq has become an exporter of LPG (cooking gas), currently exporting approximately 4,000 tons daily, with expectations of increasing these quantities in the coming period after new projects become operational.”
“Condensate exports currently range between 18,000 and 20,000 barrels per day, while dry gas production is primarily directed towards meeting the needs of power generation plants, ensuring sufficient fuel is available for their efficient operation,” Laibi added.
“We have several projects aimed at achieving self-sufficiency in the next phase,” he concluded.
