The statement added that “the MOU was signed on behalf of the Ministry of Electricity by the Undersecretary for Production Affairs, Mohammed Naimah Abdul Hussein, and on behalf of the Saudi side by Mahmoud Majid, the company’s branch manager in Iraq.”

The MOU stipulated “cooperation in technical and operational fields, including the treatment of oil waste at the Khayrat power plant in Karbala to improve environmental performance and operational efficiency, the reuse of industrial water at the Hilla II power plant, and the development of advanced water treatment solutions for power plants across the country. It also stipulated the cleaning of pipes at the Musayyab gas power plant using modern nitrogen gas technologies to increase operational readiness and reduce breakdowns.”
