Iraqi PM Might Suspend Two More Ministers Amid Unrest
Iraqi PM Haider al-Abadi might suspend another couple of his ministers amid the deteriorated situation in the country and ongoing protests against the poor public services and job vacancies, a report said on Monday.
According to a report by the Al Mada newspaper, citing a reliable source, the ministers of Municipalities and Public Works, and Health might face the same fate of the minister of electricity who was suspended earlier on Sunday over lack of efficient power supply to the public.
The Arabic newspaper has expected the Iraqi premier to continue on taking such actions in order to show the public that he has the power of fighting against corruption.
Thousands of people have been gathering in the streets in southern provinces of Iraq since the beginning of the month, demanding better public services and job opportunities.
Hundreds of people have so far been killed or wounded during the demonstrations, according to Iraqi reports.
